Acapulco Gold - Regular Strain

Acapulco Gold Regular by Barney's Farm

You are cultivating a legend of the counterculture movement with Acapulco Gold. Finding genuine Acapulco Gold genetics is rare, but these regular seeds give you the real deal—a direct connection to the Mexican landraces that defined a generation. Perfect for your breeding projects, these seeds let you preserve a piece of cannabis history. Grow the strain that set the standard for "high grade" before the term even existed.

The plants are a spectacle to behold, developing thick colas speckled with distinctive reddish-brown pistils. The resin production is so abundant that the gold and green hues of the buds appear to shimmer, earning the strain its name. Unlike wild landraces, these plants have been stabilised to control height while maintaining their exotic appearance for you.

Acapulco Gold has a unique, complex aroma that sets it apart from modern hybrids. It smells of sweet fruit cocktail and toffee, mixed with fresh pine and a hint of wild earth. The scent is pungent but pleasant, evoking the feeling of a tropical forest in your grow room.

The flavor is citrus and creamy, with a hint of coffeee. The aftertaste reveals distinct notes of citrus and wood, leaving a clean, sweet sensation on the palate. It is a sophisticated flavor profile that has stood the test of time.

This strain delivers a clear, energizing cerebral high that is perfect for when you need to combat fatigue and stress. It induces a happy, upbeat state of mind that encourages productivity and social interaction. The body effect is relaxing yet light, helping you stay active and focused throughout the day.

While it is a Sativa, Acapulco Gold has been bred to be manageable indoors. Regular seeds produce strong, vigorous plants that respond well to Low Stress Training (LST) to maximize light exposure to the lower branches. It requires a bit of patience but rewards you with truly exotic flowers that are unlike anything else on the shelf.

Flowering finishes in 60–70 days. Indoors, plants grow to a medium height of 100–110cm and can yield up to 700g/m². Outdoors, this strain thrives, reaching substantial heights of 200cm and beyond and yielding up to 1500g per plant by mid-October. THC levels are potent, typically testing at 22%.
